"More for the Gospel"
One Church Worshipping in Multiple Locations

"I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." - Jesus Christ

According to Jesus Christ's own words in Matthew 16:18, He and His Church are on offense, not on defense. Hell is on defense. Hell has gates up to prevent the advance of the Gospel on Earth. Hell would secure the hatches, intent on keeping people alienated from God, under His just wrath, guilty as charged, enslaved to sin, and healed for eternal condemnation. But, Jesus Christ has definitively said, "No way! The forces of hell cannot stop Me and My Church. We are on a mission. Through the church, I will bring my Gospel to the ends of the Earth - sinners will be forgiven, reconciled, blessed, set free and guaranteed eternal life." Christ's promise is...I will build my church!

It is in the context of Christ's promise that AHEFC is starting our first new campus in becoming a multi-site church. Moving into the ACTION phase of this process has several implications:

New Facility: ACTION means that we aggressively pursue a purchase agreement for a facility that would meet the needs of the new site, an agreement that will be dependent on congregational approval. Our first campus will temporarily meet at Hersey High School starting September 7, 2008.

New Site Launch: ACTION means that some of us will attend the new site. We envision 450 or more of us worshipping at the Hersey Campus starting this fall. For that to happen, we are applying the "one-third" principle - challenging one-third of our lay leadership in each core ministry to be a part of that group. The Church Board has already committed to this principle and we anticipate three out of the nine Board members will attend the Hersey campus.

New Douglas Campus Schedule: ACTION means that we change our worship service schedule to enable us to capture the sermon on video for distribution to all our future sites. On June 15, 2008, we will reduce our Sunday morning services from six to four and add a Saturday night service (June 14) in the Gym where the sermon will be recorded for replay on Sunday in the Gym and at Hersey.
