LIFE Groups

Our hope is that every person at our church would attend either Saturday evening or Sunday morning worship, get connected with Life Connections or a LIFE Group, and serve in a ministry.  A LIFE group will help you to become a more devoted follower of Jesus Christ. We see LIFE Groups as a catalyst for our church to ‘glorify God by multiplying God-centered, Christ-exalting, world-transforming believers through the gospel, in the greater Chicago area and around the world.’ LIFE Groups are also a way to make certain that our people are being cared for.

We have groups for couples, men, women, families, and singles that meet during the week and weekend, in the morning, at midday or evening. We hope there is a group for you!

FAQS about LIFE Groups

How do I get connected with a group?
Group information is available on our website or in the Ministry Guide. Once you find a group that fits your schedule, contact the leader to confirm the details. (They’re expecting your call!) If you try connecting with a group and have trouble, contact Claire Bechard (847-392-4840 ext. 283 or cbechard@ahefc.org).

When is the best time to join a group?
Groups are open to new members before the beginning of each trimester.  If you would like to get in a group this fall after the trimester has begun (no later than September 20) or during a study break time, consider visiting Life Connections. Life Connections meets Sunday Mornings during the 10:30 service in small groups and uses materials based on that week’s sermon. This may be a place to connect with other people looking to join a small group that will eventually start meeting during the week in someone’s home.

Can I participate in a group if the leader attends a different campus?
YES! We are one church in many locations, so LIFE Groups with members from multiple campuses will occur from time to time. Some people may choose to participate in a group that meets close to their home or on a day and time that suits their schedule which may or may not include people from the same campus.  You are welcome to participate in any open group.

What if I have other questions about LIFE Groups?
